Audio Stimulation In Online Poker

Feb
17

Online poker oftentimes feels like a lonely sport, even if you’re sitting around a vistual table with other people who enjoy the same game as you.  That’s why a lot of people create a customized playlist for their gaming time.  Here’s seven lucky suggestions from our team of players and the reasoning behind why each one needs to be added to your iPod tout suite.

Method Man, “Bring The Pain (Chemical Brothers Mix)”

This remix of one of Method Man’s groovier songs kicks up the bass, adds a growl and big booming drums, and basically dares you to go all in.  It’s a great way to shake you from your tight play and make sure that you bring the pain to the others at your table.

The Pixies, “Wave Of Mutilation”

Indie rock the way it was meant to be heard: loud and sloppy and basically brilliant in every way. Another song that keeps you in the game and making aggressive moves.

Eric B and Rakim, “Don’t Sweat The Technique”

From their jazzier work that’s not quite as epic as “Paid In Full,” but talk about a record that practically screams out to be included on a poker playlist, even if it’s about being a hip-hop pioneer  “My ideas are only for the audience’s ears / For my opponents, it might take years.”

Frank Sinatra, “Luck Be A Lady”

As much as we’d like to think it’s about our skills and knowledge, sometimes it is down to luck, and Frank sang about it better than anyone.  He may not be trendy, but Sinatra transcends trends and defines cool just by having existed.

Kanye West, “Stronger”

As much about Kanye’s trademark swagger than any lyrical content, really, but talk about a song that will pump you up.  Daft Punk, a chorus that reminds you that everything that doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, and that beat?  Hell yes.

Motorhead, “Ace Of Spades”

Lemmy makes everything more badass, and the fact that this song straight up calls out how great the ace is when you’re playing poker?  Perfection when you’re in the middle of a really aggro run and want to push it over the top.

Kraftwerk, “Numbers”

Because when you get down to it, it is all numbers when you’re at the table.  Throw in a healthy dash of paranoia and you’ve got the perfect poker track when you’re playing tighter and smarter.

These are just a few suggestions to add to your own list, and we’re sure you’ve got your favorites!  Good luck at the tables and don’t let them steal your rhythm!!
